Section 01
What's New for 2027?
GMC officially revealed the next-generation 2027 Sierra 1500 on June 25, 2026 — a complete ground-up redesign. Two all-new sixth-generation Small Block V8 engines, a motorized 16.3" articulating centre screen with hidden storage behind it, and the broadest Super Cruise lineup in Sierra history. First units expected at dealerships before end of 2026.
All-New Sixth-Generation Small Block V8 Engines
The most significant powertrain change in Sierra history. Two clean-sheet sixth-generation Small Block V8s debut for 2027: an all-new 5.7L replacing the long-running 5.3L, and a class-leading 6.6L — the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the full-size segment. The 6.6L's light-duty block is derived from GM's high-performance 6.7L Corvette engine program. Both engines underwent 11 continuous years of dyno validation and 1.5 million miles of on-road testing before production.
All-New Exterior Design
- More vertical front end with reworked GMC grille
- Dynamic LED welcome/farewell animations — 500,000 microtone optics, standard all trims
- Headlamps physically lowered to reduce oncoming driver glare
- Available quad exhaust outlets
- Composite rocker panel cover — prevents road chip damage
- 16 standard tie-down locations in the cargo bed
Broadest Super Cruise Ever
The most Super Cruise availability ever offered on a Sierra — now with hands-free trailering. No other full-size competitor offers this capability. A 3-year OnStar Super Cruise subscription is standard on the Denali Ultimate.
Motorized 16.3" Articulating Screen
The class-exclusive centrepiece: with the press of a button, the 16.3" screen motorizes upward to reveal a hidden storage vault built into the dash — validating the mechanism through thousands of cycles in extreme sub-zero and high-heat chambers. Paired with a 12.2" digital cluster standard across all trims. Upper trims add an 11.5" passenger display with an adaptive cover, and Denali Ultimate and AT4X receive a 15" multicolour head-up display.
AT4X — Most Capable Sierra Off-Roader Ever
Built for high-speed desert running and severe trail abuse. The 2027 AT4X standardizes 35" Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, a 2" factory suspension lift, front and rear electronic locking differentials, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and specialized Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers valved for severe high-speed impacts. The exclusive Timber Mahogany interior features bookmatched carbon fibre and an available panoramic sunroof.
Denali Ultimate — The Pinnacle
The most luxurious Sierra ever made. Standard 6.6L V8, 60"+ combined displays including a 15" multicolour HUD, genuine pressed open-pore engineered birch wood accents, bookmatched carbon fibre, a 16-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system with dedicated headrest drivers housed behind stainless steel grilles, and a 3-year Super Cruise subscription included from day one.
